Location based services App - Bavaria in historical maps

The new app "Bavaria in historical maps" of the Bavarian State Library, offers a new digital experience: With tablet and smartphone, you can go on a fascinating journey through Bavaria's historic maps. "Bavaria in historical maps" available from 29.04.2013 first in Apple's App Store; will be available in summer via Google Play.

bavarikon - Kultur und Wissensschätze Bayerns

On 16.04.2013 bavarikon, the culture and ken portal of the Free State of Bavaria, was formally released in a beta version. It contains arts, culture and knowledge treasures from nearly 20 Bavarian cultural institutions. Image Search in digital mass data - An innovative project of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute goes online.

A community project of the Munich Digitization Center and the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute of Berlin opens up new horizons for science and education: the similarity-based search on big digital databases. Newly developed 3D-BSB-Explorer in the exhibition Magnificent Manuscripts

The 3D-BSB-Explorer is an innovative, gesture-controlled presentation system that has been developed jointly by the Munich DigitiZation Center of the Bavarian State Library and the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute. The device serves the three-dimensional presentation of unique manuscripts and rare printed books. Currently, the 3D-BSB-Explorer is used for the exhibition Magnificent Manuscripts. Historical performance materials of the Bavarian State Opera

The historical library of the Munich National Theatre ranks among the world's largest and most valuable opera libraries. This collection (shelf mark group St.th. for "Staatstheater") was transferred to the department of music of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in the 20th century and comprises the performance materials of around 955 stage performances from the period of around 1780 to the start of the 20th century. It comprises the complete scores, instrumental and vocal scores, piano reductions, text books and role books (e.g. director's books, prompt books).
