Greek Manuscripts

With over 650 Greek manuscripts, the Bavarian State Library preserves the largest collection in the Federal Republic of Germany. The codices graeci are predominantly theological in content, but most classical authors are also represented. The codices originated between the 10th and 19th centuries, many of them from the Byzantine period before the conquest of Constantinople in 1453.
