The highly diverse musical works of the great German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) were published for the first time in the form of a systematic complete edition in the years 1862 to 1865. A supplementary volume appeared in 1888. The works edition, which is subdivided into 25 series or 309 individual volumes, was published by the publishing house Breitkopf & Härtel and has formed part of the Bavarian State Library's core music collection from its publication. The collection is captured by OMR (Optical Music Recognition). The musical content can be searched by using musiconn.scoresearch.
