Bequest of August Graf von Platen-Hallermünde

August Graf von Platen-Hallermünde (*October 24, 1796 in Ansbach; † December 5, 1835 in Syracuse, Sicily) was an important writer of the Romantic period, who stood out especially for his lyrical poetry (sonnets, ballads, ghasels). The bequest, which is completely digitized here, reflects his entire oeuvre, which includes not only lyric poetry but also dramatic poetry, historical studies, numerous translations, extensive correspondence and a diary kept for many years. The extensive bequest came to the Bavarian State Library in 1870.
