The highly differentiated musical works of the composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828) were published for the first time in the form of a systematic complete edition in the years 1884 to 1897. The works edition is subdivided into 22 series and was published by the publishing house Breitkopf & Härtel with a number of important persons as editors, among them Johannes Brahms and Joseph Hellmesberger.
